Peru. You can reserve any hike, guided tour, or activity with confidence. Unless prevented by some circumstance beyond our control, we will operate every tour and activity as scheduled in your confirmed itinerary.
It's customary for some operators to confirm your reservation for you to join a small group tour or hike with the understanding that if they don't get enough people to sign up, they can cancel your reservation. This makes it hard for you to make decisions when booking flights and hotels that revolve around your tour or hike. Adios Adventure Travel guarantees that we will not cancel your tour or hike based on limited reservations.
The only circumstance in which a tour or hike would be canceled is if you do not pay the full amount as agreed upon, or if a natural or man-made disaster, strike, epidemic, or other event out of our control, including a force majeure, were to occur. In this case, we would endeavor to offer an alternative activity as long as changes will not affect the safety of any travelers, guides or local staff.
Our intention is to be transparent and clear about what we can and can't do to help people make decisions about how to book trips and protect their investments. We welcome any questions. In case of a global, national or regional event of any kind, including epidemics or pandemics, that may affect your ability to travel or complete your trip, we strongly recommend that every group should purchase comprehensive travel insurance that covers all your known trip expenses including air and ground, as well as additional unknown expenses that may occur. CFAR (cancel for any reason) policies have a track record of covering up to 75% of costs. Adios Adventure Travel does not insure or refund any travel expenses for any reason. For people who choose not to buy travel insurance, you accept all risks for the potential loss of the amount paid for your trip and any additional unplanned expenses that may occur.
As a courtesy, here is a link to Squaremouth Travel Insurance. You can get a free quote or call the toll-free number to talk to a trained agent. However, you can choose any travel insurance company you like.
We ask every person paying to fill out our electronic Reservation Form. We will send a link by email.

Protection Strategies for trips to Machu Picchu by train:
> Reschedule up to 1 year from the date you request in writing (at least 8 days before your trip begins.) You do not need to have new dates selected to postpone. The dates may be chosen later but travel must be completed one year after the postponement is requested. If we buy your permit or tickets in advance and the Peru government allows us to change the date without penalty, there is no additional cost to you to reschedule. If the Peru government does not permit changes, then it is your responsibility to cover the cost of new permits or tickets when you reschedule. Applies to rescheduling the same itinerary and hotels booked for the primary trip.
> Defered payment can be arranged for some trips. No payment required until 35 days before your arrival. (we are not responsible in case tickets or permits sell out before your payment is made)
Please note that some services and hotels may not be available or may have limited availability due to high demand. We will do everything we can to book an equivalent service / hotel, or assist you with choosing new dates where the same service or hotel is available.
Exclusions for rescheduling trips to Machu Picchu by train:
> Activities that require advance permits or tickets may have penalty costs if dates are changed. Inca Trail and Machu Picchu citadel/ruins tickets and permits cannot be refunded or changed. If you choose to reschedule you will be charged the cost of a new permit or ticket unless the Peru government waives the fees.
> Some hotels especially the luxury accommodations may not accept changes less than 30 days before arrival. We will do our best to ask for changes without penalities but we cannot guarantee it will happen.
Trips that include any Inca Trail hike have a separate cancellation policy for the hike:
